"The lower level is stepped back with each getting covered stoops, giving each unit its own articulation. The building is a long continuous plane that runs over the stepped unit entries below, with the rising and falling of the roof line coordinated with the rhythm of the rowhouses. I wanted the play between each unit having its own identity while also creating a building that reads as one long figure."
